The aFe Magnum FORCE Stage-2 is a proper cold air intake built around a sealed airbox with a dry three-layer synthetic filter, designed specifically for the E60 550i's N62B48 V8. aFe's own dyno testing puts gains at 12 horsepower and 10.5 lb-ft of torque by pulling intake air away from underhood heat rather than recycling warm air from around the engine. The dry filter avoids the oil contamination risk that oiled gauze filters present to the MAF sensor on these cars. On a 10-plus-year-old E60, this is one of the higher-return bolt-on modifications available.
