Bilstein B6 Performance Rear Shock for G20 330i and M340i — Overview
This is Bilstein's B6 monotube rear shock designed specifically for the G20 chassis, covering the 330i, 330i xDrive, M340i, and M340i xDrive. The B6 runs a digressive valving curve, which means it firms up progressively under hard inputs without making the car miserable on broken pavement day to day. It's a direct OEM replacement - no modifications, no revalving, just bolt it in where the factory unit came out. Part number 24-303347 covers the rear position only, so you'll need to source the fronts separately if you're doing a full replacement.
If your stock shocks are blown or you want a noticeable handling improvement without going full coilover, this is the practical middle ground. Coilovers make sense if you want adjustable ride height, but if you're staying at stock height and just want better body control and longer service life than a replacement OEM unit, the B6 is the cleaner choice. On the G20 specifically, the rear end can feel floaty under hard cornering once the factory shocks wear - the B6 addresses that without requiring any suspension retuning or spring changes.
