This is Mishimoto's direct replacement cold air intake for the N20 and N26 four-cylinder engines in F3X chassis BMWs - specifically the 2012-2017 3 Series and the F32/F36 4 Series sharing the same drivetrain. It replaces the restrictive factory airbox with a larger-diameter intake tube and a cone filter positioned to pull cooler air away from the engine bay. The polished aluminum finish is purely aesthetic but the engineering underneath it matters more anyway.
