When it comes to drivetrain upgrades on the BMW E90, there are several well-proven modifications worth considering depending on your goals. For transmission performance, a short shifter kit from UUC Motorwerks or Turner Motorsport dramatically tightens the notchy stock feel on manual-equipped cars, giving you much more precise, confidence-inspiring throws. If you're running an automatic, a ZF transmission flash from MHD or BM3 can sharpen shift points and reduce unnecessary hunting between gears. On the differential side, upgrading to a limited-slip differential - whether a factory M3 unit or an aftermarket Kaaz or Quaife unit - transforms how power is distributed in corners, especially on the 328i and 335i chassis. For driveshaft vibration common on higher-mileage E90s, a Guibo flex disc and center support bearing refresh from Lemföder or Corteco eliminates that annoying drivetrain shudder immediately. Practical advice: always address worn drivetrain mounts - specifically the transmission mount and differential bushings from Meyle HD or Powerflex - before investing in performance parts, because sloppy mounts mask how good your other upgrades actually feel and accelerate wear on everything downstream.
