The BMW E92 responds exceptionally well to exhaust upgrades, and there's a strong aftermarket scene supporting this chassis. For the N54-powered 335i, a turbo-back exhaust setup from brands like Meisterschaft, Burger Motorsports, or Active Autowerke will free up significant power while delivering that aggressive, crackle-on-overrun soundtrack the inline-six is capable of. The Remus and Eisenmann cat-back systems are perennial favorites for owners wanting a refined tone without going full turbo-back. On the naturally aspirated side, the N52 and S65 V8 in the M3 benefit enormously from headers - Supersprint and Akrapovič titanium systems are top-tier choices for the E92 M3, shedding weight and sharpening throttle response noticeably. When choosing your setup, pay close attention to primary pipe diameter on headers, as sizing too large on a street-driven car will actually kill low-end torque. Always pair exhaust work with an appropriate tune if your car is turbocharged - running a free-flowing downpipe without recalibrating boost and fuel trims leaves serious performance on the table and can create unnecessary stress on internals.
