BMW 3 G20 Thermostats & Housings
More Cooling for BMW G20
The BMW G20 330i and M340i run reasonably cool under normal conditions, but enthusiasts pushing these cars on track or in hot climates quickly discover the limits of the stock cooling system. The B58 engine in particular benefits from an upgraded intercooler, with options from Mishimoto and Wagner Tuning being the most popular choices for this platform - both offer significantly larger core volumes that drop intake temperatures considerably under sustained load. For the coolant circuit itself, a high-flow thermostat from Mishimoto or a CSF aluminum radiator upgrade gives you a meaningful buffer against heat soak during spirited driving. The G20 also responds well to an upgraded charge pipe kit, as the OEM plastic units are a known weak point that can compromise thermal management indirectly. If you're running a tune or planning track days, don't overlook the power steering and differential coolers either - they're often forgotten until something goes wrong. Always flush and refill with a quality coolant like Zerex G48 or BMW's own blue coolant when fitting any new cooling components, and pressure test the system thoroughly before heading back out.
