Wagner Tuning EVO3 Competition Intercooler Kit — E89 Z4 N54/N55

Construction quality is exactly what you'd expect from a German-engineered competition product. The Tube Fin core uses internal turbulators to maximize heat exchange across every pass of charge air, while the cast aluminum end tanks were refined through CFD flow analysis to eliminate dead zones and turbulence that rob efficiency. Every intercooler leaves the Wagner Tuning facility with an anti-corrosion coating and has been pressure-tested to 6 bar, meaning it's built to handle serious boost levels without compromise. At 29.1 lbs for a core this size, the weight-to-capacity ratio reflects genuinely thoughtful engineering.

The kit includes reinforced silicone charge pipes with expanded Ø70mm inlet and outlet connections, a meaningful upgrade over the restrictive OEM click-fit system that becomes a liability at higher power stages. Everything needed for installation is included, and the kit is designed as a plug-and-play replacement for the stock intercooler on N54 and N55 Z4 models built from 2009 onward.

One honest installation note: due to the EVO3's substantial core size, minor adjustments to the radiator support may be necessary during fitment. It's a small trade-off for an intercooler that completely removes the factory thermal ceiling — and for Z4 owners pushing into larger turbos, aggressive tunes, or sustained high-load driving, that ceiling was always the limiting factor.
