This is Mishimoto's direct replacement air-to-water intercooler for the S55-powered F80 M3, F82 M4, and F87 M2 Competition. It slots into the factory location and uses the same air-to-water setup BMW engineered into the S55 - no conversion, no rerouting coolant lines to somewhere weird. The core is larger than stock, which is the whole point: more surface area means the charge air drops temperature faster and holds it lower under sustained load, which is exactly where the OEM unit starts giving up.
